Legendary hotelier André Balazs latest property endeavour is scheduled to open sometime in 2013; a conversion of a Victorian Grade 2 listed fire station on Chiltern Street, Marylebone. But all information, any details on the website are sparse.
The handful of snippets that have slipped through the net, are that this is a small site that will only allow for 26 luxury suites and a restaurant – ideal for the selective, exclusive guest!
Understanding the philosophy behind the man should help to create a picture in the mind of what’s to come – a chic, singular hotel, soulful and utterly original.
Balazs has huge insight and wisdom when it comes to the hospitality trade. He understands that uniqueness reigns, hotels are becoming site specific, travel is more and more of a prized luxury, customer service is going old school with a combined mix of tech. but balanced with utter personalisation and all these aspects will flourish in this, his latest hotel edition.
And if you’re really nosey and take a sneak peek at Knight Harwood – the contractor on site, you can get a small hint of what’s to come visually. Renderings show exposed bricks, lattice-wood on the ceilings and plenty of greenery!!
